Birthday Time is Here! Come get your invitation to the party!

happy_birthday_cake

It’s almost birthday time!

That’s right on January 27th this year my baby blog will turn 1. 1 whole year!

It’s a little hard to figure out where the time went – but I’ve had so much fun along the way I know it’s been well spent.

I’ll be sure to write a special post with a bit of the review of the year that was – closer to the time – but in the meantime – it’s time to share.

I’ve got a little giveaway.

And seeing as the birthday coincides with Australia Day (26th) I thought I’d give the competition an Aussie flavour (and seeing as it is also open only to Australian postal addresses).

In this time leading up to the official date, all you need to do is

  1. be a tribe member of Coloured in Life (subscribe here) –
  2. have a wander in my online shop (go here) and pick out a Crystal Talisman that resonates with you.
  3. then leave a comment below about which Talisman you desire (and why if you choose to)
  4. Include in the same comment one thing you love about living in this marvellous country Australia. Some of the best comments will go into my review post.
  5. I’ll draw the lucky winner at the party!

The talisman that drew my eye was the Heart chakra one (the green on). I love growth, new beginnings, emerging thoughts and feelings waiting to be discovered, nurtured and nourished. I lived amongst the north Queensland rainforest (Yidinji Country) in the tropics for 15 years. I loved, it and had the honour of working with Aboriginal Elders and leaders of 18 tribal groups coordinating how they wanted their voice heard and cultural values protecting, eventually having their cultural values of rainforest recognised on Australias National Heritage List (declared by Federal Government 2012) – and I still have that connection to wonderful people up there (now live in Brisbane). I love growing our edible garden f kale, spinach, basil, parsley, sage, coriander, silver beet – where we can pick what we want to have for brekky (r lunch or dinner !). My favourite colour is green. Green is in my blood.

The one that connects with me right now is Calm Amidst the Storm. This is where I am trying to be right now, between my family, friends, and my work in a chaotic student clinic, finding my balance and my center is absolutely essential to keep sane.

The thing I love most is that Australia teaches me that I can come across people who have completely different lives, but we can still connect on a soul level. The multiculturalism of Aus (especially Melb!) means that I have a group of friends in my clinic right now who are Australian, Turkish, Arabic, Italian, from the north, east, west and south of the area, some barely out of school and some onto their second career, all with different family lives, social lives, health stories, and their own journeys. But they are my crew, my peeps, my soul tribe.

And for THAT to happen is what Australia is about, to me 🙂

You are so precious! I can’t believe Coloured in Life is almost one!!

The talisman I am most drawn to at the moment (though I love them all!) is the ‘Create with Confidence’ – I love the sacral chakra orange!!

And there are so many things I love about Australia. I love that we have some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, and I love that compared to many other countries I’ve visited, the Australian people, in general, are so friendly, supremely chilled out, and quick to laugh.

Hey lady, just found your beautiful site via Alana. So glad I did! What a fab giveaway, too.

I’m drawn to the throat chakra talisman today, which I think reflects some deep inner work I’ve been doing around being brave enough to speak my truth, especially in my career. Exciting stuff.

And Australia, my how I love thee! I’m currently living in Spain but am coming back to dear Oz for two months to travel with Alana in Walter the Caravan. I feel so lucky! I do miss that wide brown land and it’s strange bevy of animals and reptiles. 🙂 xx

Congrats on a whole year of Coloured in Life! I feel so incredibly blessed to have met you Lisa and to think that it was all because of this gorgeous piece of the internet.

I am drawn to the throat chakra – I love the blue/Turquoise colours and it instantly makes me feel calm looking at it. I know that I have been held back from speaking my truth and singing so it’s no wonder why I’m drawn to it.

Funnily enough I was talking about Australia last night and how lucky we are to live in such a multicultural country. Our food is amazing – the produce that we grow, the stunning landscapes that we have and the Aussie spirit is truly heartwarming. There is always someone that has your back here and I’m always reminded of that when I return from an overseas trip.

Big love to you lady and congrats once again! xx

Happy Birthday! It has been so wonderful to watch you grow this blog into the awesome space it is today =)

I am drawn to the Base Chakra Talisman. Not only do I love the beautiful colours but I am currently working on my dreams and goals and need something to keep me grounded and to help me fight off my fear. I can sometimes lose my focus as well when I go through a busy period of life so I believe this beautiful talisman will be able to help keep my focus in check.

Oh Australia! How can you describe such a beautiful country with wonderful opportunities? I love everything about our country. I love how we have such an awesome, rich history that I can learn a lot from especially in my study of Naturopathy. Australia is full of people from all walks of life and different cultures and I love how open, loving and accepting Australia is (and I can’t forget our hilarious sense of humour!). Also not only do we have some of the most beautiful rainforests, bushland, desert and beaches, but we have some of the most beautiful spirited people. I love that when Australians are going through their own battle, we all band together and use our courage and strength to help each other out. With recents events it was amazing to see everyone stand together to give each other love and support through extremely tough and tragic times and that’s what makes me so damn proud to be Australian xx

  7. Happy happy birthday lovely lady. Seeing you write and grow and resist and break through and grow and add colour and light into this world is a joy.

I am drawn to the throat chakra talisman. Stories. Voice. Truth. With heart. These are things that matter and that I hold close. And those colours: drawing in calmness; and emanating vitality.

Australia. I love this land. For its diversity of place, space and people. For the opportunity and the choices I am free to make and the dreams that I live. Whilst acknowledging the privileged position I hold.
