The Beauty of a Scar

ring

A line etched in flesh – straight and true

To mark the beginning of the end

The end of closed eyes

The end of closed heart

My soul expands to fill the space

Given willingly by extracted poisonous flesh

My voice rises for the first time unrestricted

My light shines through an unblocked path

So much more than a line etched in flesh

Fading now – but only to others

I will always see

The Beauty of a Scar

    WOW.

    Tears in my eyes….my heart open…. I feel you….

    Scars united Beautiful one.

    Thank you xox

  2. Yep … the beauty of a scar. I can only imagine, and be honoured to be let into some of the depth of, what this means for you. <3

  3. Beautiful Lisa. I completely relate. I was born with brittle bones and have had numerous operations on my legs. I have a scar running down the side of each leg from hip to lower thigh and I have never tried to hide them. They are a part of me. They tell my story.

Thank you for sharing this beautiful poem x x
